If your dog may have eaten something toxic

Don’t wait for an app. Call your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital now, or one of these 24-hour lines:

How the results are made

An AI model reads the ingredient list from your photo and writes the explanations and the grade. AI can misread a label and can be wrong about an ingredient. Always check the label on the package itself, especially for anything your dog must avoid.

Ingredients toxic to dogs are checked by fixed rules rather than by the AI, and those warnings link to their sources. The rules cover a specific list: xylitol (birch sugar); grapes, raisins, sultanas and currants; chocolate and cocoa; hops; macadamia nuts; garlic, onion and related plants; and grape seed extract. No warning does not mean a product is safe. Other ingredients can harm some dogs, how much a dog eats matters, and individual dogs react differently.

Explanations marked “AI explanation · not yet source-checked” have not been checked against a published source.

Talk to your vet

Speak to your veterinarian before changing your dog’s diet, and especially if your dog is a puppy, is pregnant or nursing, is a senior, has a health condition, takes medication, or is on a prescription diet. Grades personalized to your dog’s profile are only as good as the profile and cannot account for everything your vet knows about your dog.
